Youtube has been criticised for allowing the spread of pseudo-scientific ideas, misinformation and conspiracy theories. Though the concept of a flat Earth has floated around since ages, it is only in the last few years, that the group has gained popularity with the help of social media. Why are flat-earthers gaining popularity? The International Flat Earth Research Society (IFERS), better known as the Flat Earth Society was set up in 1956 by Samuel Shenton in Dover, UK. However, they do believe that the other planets are spherical. They accuse Nasa of "photoshopping" its satellite images based on the "evidence" that the colour of the ocean is different in each image.

"What we do know is that it encircles the Earth and serves to hold in our oceans and helps protect us from whatever lies beyond," according to the group.

According to Flat Earth Society, no one has been very far past the ice wall and returned to tell of their journey. This wall is 24X7 guarded by Nasa employees to prevent people from climbing it.
